Along with some other departments, the department of Economics came into being in 2019 affiliated with West Bengal State University. Department of Economics had offered CBCS courses till 2025 but now department has offered NEP (Minor and Core) courses. Currently, there is only one faculty member in the department of Economics. Mr. Prosenjit Samanta is serving as a State Aided college Teacher (SACT) since 2019 and he is working as head of the department as well. Faculty of Economics enables to develop the skills of the students and it help to develop the understanding level from local to global level. Department of economics has good collection of books in college library and good wi-fi connectivity which is very helpful for the students in study purpose.
