About The department
Welcome to the Department of Education at HMV, West Bengal State University. As Head, I’m delighted to introduce our department, which is deeply committed to shaping future educators. We firmly believe that education empowers individuals to stand on their own feet, take care of their own needs, and crucially, embrace the responsibility to care for others and society.
Our mission is to equip aspiring students with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical skills, preparing them to be compassionate, competent, and socially responsible human beings. Our vision is to be a leading center for educational innovation, significantly contributing to educational policy and practice.
We offer robust Undergraduate programs for both Honours and Pass (General) students. Both curricula ensure our graduates are well-rounded and ready to make a lasting, positive impact in diverse educational settings.

Teachers are actively engaged in student nurturing with full motivation for their better future and also participating in different interdisciplinary seminar, workshop for acquiring skill and knowledge in the discipline of Education . The faculty members hail from a great variety of academic background, turning the department into a rich mileu of multi-disciplinary expertise. The students are encouraged to participate in different Co-Curricular activities. The department publishes its unique Wall Magazine, showcasing the rich potential of the students as creative thinkers. |
