Hingalganj Mahavidyalaya is a Coeducational Undergraduate Degree college, established in the year 2005 affiliated to West Bengal State University, Barasat. The college offers Honours and General Degree programs under NEP as guided by UGC. Spread across 4 Acres of pristine Sunderban landscape, the campus offers modern facilities and academic support to meet the growing demands of the students. Hingalganj Mahavidyalaya has a team of young and inspiring faculty with various specializations, dedicated staff and modern infrastructure is available at college for flexible and enhanced learning of the students.
The is under direct supervision of Education Directorate and the Higher Education Department of the Government of West Bengal, and they are the immediate regulatory authority of the College administration, various policies developmental and regulatory are framed under their guidance along with governing body and college principal. Principal of the college plays a vital role in implementation of these policies as well as day to day functional modalities of the College these policies are carried through and implemented by the Principal of the College. The College have a well-set Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) which is an indispensable prerequisite of UGC, India.
The college has a students’ hostel for girls which intends to cater to the needs of outstation students. The College Library is well-stocked and aims to fulfil the academic requirement of the students. Seminars and allied Lecture sessions are held for the benefit of the students. Sports activities take place round the year with the Annual Sports every year. The students’ Union offers a platform to the students in order to highlight their concerns. Students can have a sense of belongingness in various collective activities in the common room or canteen. Yearly magazine, along with departmental wall magazines, is published to enable the students to develop their innate potential.
The teaching and other support staff constantly strive to facilitate holistic development of the students and further progress of the college. Students have to abide by the rules and regulations of the college and it must be remembered that only through combined efforts of all of us, we can raise the college to better heights. Students would come to the college, and move on for better prospect, but the college shall remain as a foundation of their future, shaping their destiny year after year, unhindered and unabated.
